Ken Kornberg is an architect who has specialized in the design of research facilities for 40 years. His 600+ projects have been in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. He is the founder and president of Kornberg Associates architects which he started in 1979 in San Diego, California. He has written four books on the topic of lab design. His projects include, private and public institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. He has spoken at lab and research conferences around the world on various topics about lab, campus and research facility design. He spent the last 15 years working on the masterplan, design and construction of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, which recently was cited by a scholarly science journal, as one of the top 10 research institutions in the world.
